Welcome

いらっしゃいませ (Irasshaimase) -Welcome, please come in. Mr. Ramen-san proudly serves Japanese ramen all the way from Hakata, Japan. This is the original ramen from Hakata. Located at Mid-city center, Melbourne, most busiest in the city, we try to maintain a friendly atmosphere where guests can feel comfortable dinning here. We do not cook our ramen like other ramen shops. Noodles are made daily in our shop. Our Kyushu Tonkotsu ramen has a cloudy white coloured broth. It has a thick broth made from boiling pork bones and collagen over high heat for many long hours, in which it fuses with a hearty pork flavour and a creamy consistency. Our charsu is stewed for many hours until they are almost melted in your mouth. Furthermore, our eggs are just cooked perfectly with yolk slight running in the middle. With our charsu and eggs, they are the prefect match along with daily made ramen noodle. They are the heavenly sent side-dish that you can dip it into the ramen soup or just enjoy it as it is. Our food is sourced from top quality ingredients, featuring a high percentage of local and organic products. Our menu, from time to time, will include special dishes offering a mix of new and signature dishes. We do have vegetarian menu for veg lovers! Come try our vegetarian charsu ramen.

We do not take reservation for all our locations. No takeaway.

What Our client Saying ?

This is the best vegan ramen I have had outside of Japan so far. The service staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. The food came out quite quickly and was absolutely delicious. You can tell the noodles are made fresh and you can ask for a top up of free noodles once you finish your bowl if you like. 100% recommend getting there early when they open or be prepared to wait - but the wait is worth it!

Talk about a hidden gem! Mr. Ramen San tucked away inside Melbournes CBD. Upon first glance you see a small ramen shop with metal kegs of imported Japanese beer out the front. There was a line and always is a line, how good could this place be? You step inside the warm cozy Japanese interior, decorated with anime posters and the atmosphere feels lively. Such an all round great balanced ramen. Broth was flavour some but not overpowering and just the right amount of toppings. The bowl looks small but it definitely satisfied me. I’m from Brisbane and this was definitely a place I wish I could bring back with me.

Good amount of food, natural sweet pork bone broth and noodle, the bamboo shoots are tasty. The vegetarian charsu and the broth tastes unique, I think the vegetarian charsu is man made meat, and the broth is made from soya beans and soy milk, this is an unforgettable experience.

I resisted eating ramen outside Japan as it is usually catered to local tastes. However, I was blown away by my experience at Mr Ramen San. They have got it right down to the little details and the taste and texture of the ramen was exceptional, so much so that I asked for a second helping which came at no extra charge! Definitely coming to savor the ramen again soon.

First time visiting Mr. Ramen San and definitely won’t be the last. We got the Tonkatsu ramen with roasted pork + spicy Tonkatsu with roasted pork + pork gyoza. For less than $15 per ramen and $6 for Gyoza. Best bang for buck! Hands down the best ramen in Melbourne. The broth was divine, flavours were balanced and just the perfect amount of texture from the noodle and meat. The izakaya vibes of this little ramen place transports you right back to Japan. Overall 5/5! Just prepare to wait in a queue, it’s worth the wait!
